This house rocks

This house ROCKS. We've stayed a few duds (hotels, stays, homes) over the years in the Pinecrest area and they are always really dated, cold, poor quality. This house has all the feels of a log cabin but all the niceness of your actual home. The firepit is amazing! And the sweetest touches like tons of keurig, setting up your first fire, smores for the kiddos, and pet friendly. Couldn't ask for more and we'll stay again!

Wonderful Time

We had the most wonderful time at Dogwood Digs! The cabin was spotless upon arrival and had absolutely everything we needed for a cozy stay in the mountains. Robert was incredibly helpful and welcoming - we will certainly be back soon!

Great Place To Stay

Dogwood Digs is great place to stay and get away. Very clean with everything you need to feel comfortable and welcomed. Little touches like a selection of coffee and welcome candy really makes you feel like the owners care about their guests. Robert was prompt with responses to any questions and very professional.

Cozy Cabin

This cozy cabin is comfortable and not cramped like some “cozy cabin” listings can be. It was nice having the family room upstairs to get some space and “quiet” from two lively and active kids. The stairs and upstairs floor are creaky but nothing annoying nor distracting. My kids haven’t learned how to walk quietly yet so it might be easier with other folks. As mentioned in other reviews, the cabin has everything you’d need and of good quality too. Like the knives actually cut food! Sitting in front of the fireplace, reading a good book with the curtains pulled back, enjoying a cup of tea while the kids sat upstairs watching cartoons on Netflix, after playing a full day in the snow, it was exactly what I needed. Everything was clean. Robert was responsive with my questions. The building was pleasant to look at from the inside as the photos show. “I thought it was a good place”, my 7 year old son said (as he’s reading this over my shoulder). If you need a home base near Pinecrest or DodgeRidge, this cabin will cover all of your needs. I hope to return this summer to enjoy the fire pit outside and the chairs on the deck.

Couldn't have asked for more

We had the best time! Our boys are 6 and 11 and they were thrilled with the everything about the property. We even brought our dog who felt right at home. Everything was perfect and every detail has been thoughtfully applied to the needs of guests. It is cozy, clean, comfortable and decorated perfectly. We loved everything about it. The location was great for snow activities and I can imagine that it is equally amazing in the Spring and Summer. We look forward to returning again soon.

Perfect hideaway

This cabin is just a little piece of heaven the perfect blend of beautiful comfortable, classy, functional, quiet and fun!!! Best of all this is a dog friendly cabin and I must say it’s not easy finding and dig friendly for our little loves. This cabin is in a quiet neighborhood great for morning walks and close to ice skating, Dodge Ridge and Pine Crest Lake.... perfection 💞 Robert is just wonderful with excellent communication at all levels. We have had such a great experience and just love this cabin hideaway.... can’t wait to book our third vacation ❤️

True Gem

Robert's cottage is a true gem in the area and we had an amazing time there! It comfortably fits 8 people (3 bedrooms and 1 reclining sofa in a game room) with plenty of room. We really liked a well-designed modern and stylish kitchen with a huge sink and all appliances we needed. A nice touch was a vast selection of coffee / tea / hot chocolate pods . The game room has more games and books than you might need even for a month. We also enjoyed the fire pit outside with plenty of dry firewood provided and the fact that you could illuminate the backyard. Internet is rather slow (averaging <1Mbs during our stay) but it's as expected and well mentioned in the listing - so don't plan any video calls for remote work/school. As advised in the welcome booklet - enjoy nature, relax or take a nap ;) It's a nice stylish cottage in forest community. We'd definitely consider it for our future trips to this area.

Just got home

We have only been down the hill for a few hours and I'm itching to get back! This was the perfect family trip. Robert was an amazing host who went out of his way to make us feel at home. He has been extremely quick to respond to any questions and has gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. This even included starting the heater in anticipation of our arrival. The cabin was well equipped with everything we could have needed, very clean, and extremely comfortable! We will definitely be booking another trip soon!

Great Host & Great Accommodations

Beautiful cabin in the Stanislaus National forest area. Short drive times to nearest market, gas station, and hiking trails. The cabin itself was beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We appreciated everything from the handwritten card and customized bookmarks, to the chocolates and doggy treats. Even if a toothbrush was forgotten, there were new ones provided in the cabin along with toothpaste readily available. We really enjoyed and thoroughly utilized the outdoor spaces. We had fun playing cornhole and sitting around the bonfire pit in the evenings. We couldn't get the bbq grill to work, which wasn't a big deal to us because the kitchen was well equipped with all of the untensils, pots, and pans that we needed. All of the rooms had everything we needed, with extra towels and even throw blankets for the cooler evenings. The game room was a nice bonus area to spend time in. I would definitely want to come back to Dogwood Digs again in the future. Great hosts and great accomodations.

The bell Family is amazing, quick response, beautiful cabin, and perfect family getaway... experience was overall amazing. Downtown Sonora was off the charts... not far from everything we needed and just overall a really great experience! Wish we could’ve stayed longer!!
